Just don't make it seem like your hitting on them and being pathetic.
Find some girls who are willing to play a game of volleyball, football, etc in the water or sand. The ones who are sun tanning on their towels are going to be hard to talk to and boring. but by playing around, it will be a great icebreaker and easy way to flirt and talk. possibly even get their number. I know i like guys who ask us to play volleyball.



BTW: play nice, dont get too into the game and cream everyone, then they might leave.

I would start going near a group of friends in the ocean. So every time I wave comes you can laugh about how fun it was together. Maybe try doing a flip into the wave or something; though girls may deny it stuff like that is impressive. Then after that keep talking to them until you both decide to get out of the water and then it starts from there. Be with a few friends, don't be by yourself. It doesn't sound like you are the charismatic type; so bring friends that are and who can hold up a conversation.
Set up a volleyball net and get a group of girls and guys to play. It's a great way to meet people.
